Skills Audit: Filmining and Editing Preliminary Match Cut Exercise - Amy Nicole Fitzpatrick

After Planning and storyboarding my match cut film, my group then had to film it, from which we ended up with clips. We Then exported these files into final cut pro then edited the clips so they matched up and the clips became a short film, showing a person going into a room and engaging in conversation with somebody eles. The final Clip was then imported into soundtrack, where we made a sound clip to fit our film, using the various sounds in the soundtrack pro library. We added a siren half way during the clip, as the security guard is allerted to remove the woman from the building. We also added a thump at the end of the sequence as the man bangs his head on the floor to add impact of his head hitting against the hard floor. My group also created a soundtrack as the film starts to build up to the frame where the woman and the man first meet.We were unable to add titles however while editing as there was a problem with Livetype while we where trying to add titles after importing our film into it.

Planning Preliminary match cut exercise including storyboarding - Amy Nicole Fitzpatrick

Our group was given the task to carry out a match cut exercise whereby we make a short film which involves a person walking into a room, sitting down and then engaging in conversation with another character.

My group decided that we would do our match cut exercise about credit card fraud. The clip features a character walking down the hall into a room, where she is met by a security guard who requires a password, and then is let in. She then sits down and engages in conversation with a man who has a large briefcase filled with credit cards, which is given to the woman. However, she does not seem too pleased with the cards and tension between the two breaks out, which results in the man getting angry and having the woman dragged out and removed from the building, leading to him having a heart attack due to the stress of what has just occured.

This Is The Storyboard For Our match cut exercise.

Final Edit of Prelim Exercise with Livetype and Sound filming practice

In Our groups we were required to do a sound, editing and filming practice, which involved a bag swap. This Is The Final Edit Of Our filming, sound and livetype practice.
